🍻 Trivia, Darling

The quiz night you already run, on the big screen. You register the teams, the room scans in and joins one, and you walk the questions round by round — general knowledge, a specialist round, a picture round on the screen and a music round through the PA. Anyone at a table can put an answer forward from their phone, but the captain locks in the one that counts, exactly like the paper answer sheet it replaces. It marks itself when answers close and you overturn anything it got wrong. Leaderboard after every round, and an interval slot between them.

🎤 How to host it

  1. Register your teams before the room arrives — type them one per line when you create the game, or add them in the console. Cast the big screen and put the QR up.
  2. Punters scan in, put a name down and join a team. The first person on a team captains it; change that in the console any time, and move anyone who joined the wrong table.
  3. Start the quiz. The question goes on the big screen and the clock runs — set it to 0 if you'd rather call time yourself.
  4. Your console is the answer sheet: every question, every accepted answer, and what each team put in. Picture and music rounds play from the big screen — press Play, Pause or Replay on the console.
  5. Close answers and it marks itself. Spelling is forgiven, the answer is not — overturn anything it got wrong, and award part marks in the points box.
  6. Reveal the answer, then Next. At the end of each round the leaderboard goes up; take an Interval before the next one, or go straight in.

📱 How your room plays it

  1. Scan the QR, put your name in, and join the team you're sitting with.
  2. Anyone at the table can put an answer forward from their own phone — every suggestion shows up for your team, and nobody else's.
  3. Your captain picks the one that counts and locks it in. They can change it right up until answers close.
  4. Pictures show on your phone as well as the big screen. Music and video play through the room — that's what the big screen is for.
  5. Spelling is forgiven; punctuation, capitals and a stray 'the' don't matter. The answer itself does. The host has the final say on a near miss.
  6. Scores go up on the big screen after every round.
