(We are) Family Feud: how it works

Two to four families go head-to-head on a survey board. The team in control shouts answers, the host reveals the hits, and the points pile into the pot β€” but three strikes and the next team gets ONE guess to steal the lot. Double and triple rounds are where it's won. Nobody needs a phone: the room plays out loud.

Hosting it

  1. Create a game from /familyfeud. You get TWO links β€” the big board and your console. There's no player link: nobody needs a phone.
  2. Cast the board to the venue screen, and keep the console to yourself β€” it shows you every answer.
  3. Name your teams (2–4) and set a target score.
  4. Load a survey pack β€” a built-in, an AI-generated set, or one you wrote in the admin Question Bank β€” pick a multiplier (Γ—1, Γ—2 or Γ—3) and put the next board up.
  5. The board goes up in two beats, so you can hit your line. First the blank slates appear and the screen says how many answers are on the board β€” that's your "we surveyed 100 people, the top seven answers are up there" moment. Then hit "Reveal the question" and the question drops in. (Revealing an answer brings the question with it, so you can't strand a board.)
  6. The team in control shouts answers. Tap an answer to reveal it; hit βœ• when they miss.
  7. Three strikes and the next team gets ONE guess to steal the whole pot β€” reveal it if they get it, or hit "Steal missed" and the pot goes back.
  8. Award the pot. The STOLEN / on-the-board banner clears after a couple of seconds, so you can reveal any answers nobody found β€” the room loves seeing the rest of the board β€” then put the next board up. Keep going until a family hits the target.

Playing it

  1. You don't need your phone for this one β€” just your voice.
  2. Your team gets put in control. Shout your best answer at the board.
  3. If it's on the board, it lights up and the points go in the pot. If it isn't, that's a strike.
  4. Three strikes and the other family gets ONE guess to steal everything you've built up.
  5. Double and triple rounds are worth more β€” that's where it's won and lost.
